Terms of Service & Rental Agreement
Effective Date: October 2026
These terms apply when using Dumpster Rental Schenectady to request local rental information or service.
1. Rental Window & Extension Terms
Standard roll-off dumpster rentals include a 7-day placement window from the time of drop-off unless alternative rental terms were explicitly agreed upon during booking. Extensions beyond the initial 7 days are billed at our standard daily rate. Customers are requested to notify dispatch at least 24 hours prior to desired pickup or swap-out.
2. Weight Allowances & Overage Billing
Each roll-off container size is provided with a designated tonnage allowance (e.g., 1–2 tons for 10 yard, 2–3 tons for 20 yard, etc.). If the weight of disposed materials exceeds the included tonnage allowance, overages are billed per additional ton based on certified municipal transfer station weight scale tickets.
3. Fill Level & Safe Transport Rules
For safety and New York Department of Transportation highway compliance:
- Debris must not exceed the top rail or water line of the container walls.
- Drivers will tarp the container before transport; overloaded items that prevent proper tarping must be removed by the customer prior to hauling.
- Heavy dense materials (such as broken concrete, brick, dirt, rock, and asphalt) must only be placed in designated 10 or 15 yard containers and filled only partway to respect vehicle gross weight ratings.
4. Prohibited Hazardous Waste
Under NYSDEC environmental regulations and transfer station guidelines, the following items are strictly prohibited inside roll-off containers:
- Asbestos, chemicals, liquid paints, solvents, motor oil, and automotive fluids.
- Propane tanks, gasoline cans, batteries, and explosive materials.
- Medical or biohazard waste.
- Regulated electronics (televisions, monitors, computers) subject to New York State e-waste disposal laws.
5. Driveway Placement & Municipal Street Permits
Customers are responsible for providing adequate approach clearance (approximately 60 feet of linear truck path and 14 feet of overhead clearance from utility wires and low-hanging branches). While our drivers place protective wooden boards beneath roll-off rails on request to minimize surface marking, customers assume responsibility for site suitability. If a dumpster must be placed on a City of Schenectady municipal street or right-of-way, customers must obtain the required City of Schenectady street placement permit.
